Victoria Seun Tuyo, Founder and Registered Psychotherapist

Victoria Seun Tuyo - Founder and Registered Psychotherapist

I utilize a semi-structured person-centred, strength-based approach to therapy, focusing on enhancing an individual's strengths and building resilience. I take an integrative approach to ensure that my tools and strategies fit your needs.

I am here to create a warm, safe, compassionate and non-judgemental space to help you to feel heard, understood and respected. I am genuine and will listen to you with great care and attend to your blind spots to help determine what obstacles must be tackled to achieve your goals. I am also direct and will challenge you when you need to think, act and see things differently.

I would be pleased to work with you to create change and overcome obstacles in your way, whether it's an emotional pattern learned earlier in life, a way of thinking or behaving, or systemic issues holding you back from the life you want.

I have a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. I am a Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA) member.

Welcome, and thank you for being here. I'm Victoria, the founder of Rena Psychotherapy.

Over the past decade, I've transitioned from the corporate world to pursue a second career as a therapist, driven by a passion for aiding individuals in navigating mental health challenges and life complexities. As a black woman, I've personally faced and overcome stressors related to acculturation, discrimination, and career transitions, shaping my commitment to culturally responsive mental health care.

My experiences highlight the intersectional barriers and mental health challenges people from diverse backgrounds encounter. I incorporate a semi-structured, person-centered, strength-based therapeutic approach, emphasizing resilience and individual strengths.

In my therapeutic practice, I aim to create a warm, non-judgmental space, leveraging authenticity and active listening. My direct approach is designed to help clients overcome obstacles, rethink behaviors, and confront systemic issues, fostering positive change and empowering them to achieve their desired life.

In our collaboration, I will guide you to forge meaningful connections, communicate authentically, and confidently set boundaries. Together, we'll work towards releasing feelings of shame and guilt, while incorporating healthy self-soothing practices that align with your lifestyle.

Outside of my professional role, I enjoy reading, traveling, and connecting with nature.
